Cannabis plants can be divided into different species. The best-known species are cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. The third most well-known strain is cannabis ruderalis which is used to produce unique strains of autoflowering cannabis.
difference between Indica and Sativa
Cannabis sativa: the Sativa plant is easily recognizable because it is incredibly tall, in fact it easily reaches 3 meters in height. The leaves are narrow and produce long flowers that grow along the branches of the plant. Cannabis sativa is renowned for its active, energizing and mentally sharp effect. Consumers prefer to use sativa strains during the day to feel motivated, creative and social.
Cannabis indica: Indica cannabis plants are very different from sativas because they tend to grow little and compactly, reaching a maximum average height of 120 cm. The Indica is densely branched and appears more “bushy.” Cannabis indica produces a sedative-like effect that is characterized by intense stimulation of the body. Consumers prefer to smoke the indica strain during the evening for relaxation.
Cannabis ruderalis: Ruderalis cannabis is the smallest of the 3 examined so far. It rarely grows above 60 cm in height and has thin, fibrous branches with few branches. Ruderalis is a low THC plant and unlike indica and sativa, flowering is based on the maturity of the plant rather than the light cycle. Ruderalis is often used to crossbreed and create unique autoflowering cannabis genetics.
