De plant behoort tot de familie van de hennepachtigen (Cannabaceae) en speelt opnieuw een hoofdrol in de industri\u00eble productie \u2013 voor voedingsdoeleinden, voor textiel- of bouwtoepassingen en voor de productie van papier. De plant bevat diverse werkzame stoffen, in wisselende percentages afhankelijk van de vari\u00ebteit.<\/p>\n<h2>Beschrijving van de plant<\/h2>\n<p>Een sterke, rechtopstaande, ruwe plant, waarvan de binnenbast bestaat uit een zeer stevige vezel. De bladeren zijn dun, tegenoverstaand of afwisselend, verdeeld in 5\u201311 lijnvormig-lancetvormige segmenten. De vrucht is een samengedrukt nootje.<\/p>\n<h2>Verwante soorten<\/h2>\n<p>Het betreft een monotypisch geslacht. De plant is genaturaliseerd vanuit Eurazi\u00eb en heeft zich verspreid naar diverse gematigde streken.<\/p>\n<h2>Natuurlijke habitat<\/h2>\n<p>Cannabis sativa L. wordt al eeuwenlang geteeld en is een goed voorbeeld van een koloniserende plant, omdat ze zich uitstekend aanpast aan nieuwe omstandigheden. De plant groeit in de buurt van bewoonde gebieden op vochtige, voedselrijke bodems en op open terreinen. In Europa zijn in veel regio&#8217;s ook spontaan verspreide en wilde vormen van deze plant te vinden.<\/p>\n<h2>Andere namen voor Cannabis sativa L.<\/h2>\n<p>Hennep, hemp, marihuana, marihuana, canapa, ganja.<\/p>\n<h2>Chemische verbindingen<\/h2>\n<p>De chemische verbindingen in Cannabis sativa L. behoren tot de familie van de cannabino\u00efden. In de plant overheersen vijf belangrijke verbindingen: cannabidiol, cannabichromeen, cannabigerol, \u0394-9-tetrahydrocannabinol en cannabinol. Cannabino\u00efde verbindingen zoals THC worden gebruikt voor de kwaliteitscontrole van de plant. In de wetenschappelijke literatuur zijn meer dan 97 soorten cannabino\u00efde verbindingen ge\u00efdentificeerd in Cannabis sativa L. De etherische olie uit de bloemen van Cannabis sativa L. bevat monoterpenen (92%) en sesquiterpenen (7%).
